Welcome! We hope you'll walk 10K with Prevention Australia on October 11: The walking is real—it's the community that's virtual.

You’re probably familiar with local runs and walks held at a specific location. You’ve got to live close enough to get there by the start time—and parking can be a beast. With a virtual walk, you pick where you do it, who you do it with, and what time you start.

Here are the answers to everything you need to know!

Is there any training support?

Absolutely! When you sign up to the Virtual Walk, we'll give you access to our exclusive training portal. There, you'll have access to the 5-weeks worth of training plans, nutrition plans, and expert guidance from our incredible professionals

Is there any Virtual Walk swag?

Of course—what's a 10km walk without some swag? When you sign up, you'll get a Prevention cap and microfibre sports towel for $35*. Orders close on Thursday 1st at 9am AEST.

And if you share your training snaps with us using the hashtag #preventionwalk you'll be in the running to win one of the Virtual Walk beauty lifestyle packs valued at $250!

What if I can’t do it on October 11?

That’s okay! Sign up, do your 10K anytime in October, and wear your Prevention cap proudly! We’ll be sharing photos on our social media that day with the hashtag #preventionwalk, and hope you will too—but we’ll be excited to hear about your walk whenever you do it.

How do you know I really did a 10km?

Frankly, we don’t. But we trust you—that’s what community is all about. We'll be following along with everyone who posts on social media, so be sure to share your experience and use #preventionwalk tags on social media

You also don't need to report your final time or distance to us. This event is meant to inspire us all to exercise a little more, get outside in the fresh air and support our mental health. There's no need to stress out with the logistics of your walk.

Can I walk with people?

Yes, you can, but be sure to keep a safe distance and follow any regulations in your area.

Why should I walk?

It’s incredibly good for you: Walking can reduce belly fat, protect your brain, and add years to your life. But you might also walk for other reasons, like to catch up with a friend or to explore your neighborhood. There's lots more advice and reasons for walking on our Virtual Walk blog page, too.

How do I sign up?

We look forward to “walking” with you!

*Hats and towels are only available until Thursday 1st October 9am AEST.
