Can’t concentrate? Try a 10-minute burst of exercise to get your brain firing on all cylinders.

Research in Canada found that people who do work up a sweat, show far greater activity in the frontal lobe of the brain, responsible for problem-solving, and decision-making. To power up your brain synchronise your watches and try these:

• Step away from your desk and head outside for a brisk walk around the block.

• Stairs are a good option because you can just go up and down as many times as you need to make your 10 minutes.

• Put together a small exercise routine that takes 10 minutes, and includes aerobic exercises like jumping jacks and running on the spot.

• Pump up the volume and dance your heart out!
