1. Doing I'm a Celebrity has given me a new resilience.
Now, whenever I’m facing challenges, either myself or someone in my immediate family will say, “Well, it isn’t anything like being bitten on the face by five snakes!” So, I’ve certainly got something quite up there to compare it to!
2. It's an honour to grow older
I lost my mum when she was 62, so I feel very grateful that I’m growing older in good health. It’s an absolute gift.
3. I've always valued health
I try to set a good example for my kids [son Lucky, 11, and daughter Ever, eight]. I’m very mindful about the food I eat, the amount of alcohol I drink and how much sleep I get. Sleep is really important to my wellbeing.
4.I'm still learning how to give myself permission to take time out
I like to work, I like to be everything for everyone. Recently, I took time out for a whole morning and I felt all the better for it.
5. My parents taught me to always be a decent human being
I think listening is a great tool. I’m very curious and I always listen. The world would be a better place if we all communicated more effectively.
6. Moving my body, whatever that might be, makes me happy
It could be going for a walk, going to the gym or doing a dance class. And you’ll never regret a swim.
7. Showing affection is so important in a marriage
[Toni has been married to husband Will Osmond for 13 years]. It might be walking past each other and putting a hand on each other, or having a glass of wine on the balcony at the end of the week, just the two of us. Those moments keep the marriage alive.
8. For the most part, I've always taken fame with a grain of salt
But if I could tell my younger self anything, I would say to trust your instincts more and be uniquely you. Don’t compare yourself. 9
9. When I'm facing life decisions..
I always tell myself that it’s your life, so put your soul in it. That’s been my motto ever since I was really young. I ask myself, “Is this a soulful choice for me? Will it feed my soul?”
10. If all else fails, crank up the music and dance!
Kylie Minogue has always been my go-to when I’m having a bad day.
