It’s safe to say the life of Australia’s best-known PT has changed a lot over the past year. She and partner Steve “Commando” Willis welcomed baby Axel last December. Then there’s a workout soundtrack, her ninth season of TBL and a meal range with Woolworths, not to mention her 13th book, Make It Happen: Live Your Best Life. Here, she shares some of the simple advice she swears by.
Self-belief
“I’m a big believer that the first step before any others can be taken is the step of self-belief. In terms of business or career, you need to believe in it otherwise it’s not going to happen. When the challenges turn up, it’s that self-belief you always cling to. That’s the bedrock.
Creating the life you want
“It comes down to that very first question- what do you really want? What’s been gnawing away inside of your for years that you’ve been pushing to the side? Maybe you need to move, maybe you need a new job, maybe you’ve always wanted to travel, maybe you want children. Whatever it is the change on the other side is exciting.
Working out with her partner, Steve
“I’ve never trained with someone I’m in a relationship with, so this is a first and we love it. With training buddies, you don’t necessarily need to be at the same level. He’s extremely strong, but he stills gets inspired because I may not be able to lift the same amount of weight, but I can still push pretty hard. And I can beat him in other areas!
What she loves about her 40s
“I’m loving being a parent. It’s fantastic. I never thought I would say that!. That’s not completely true…I just wasn’t sure whether it was ever going to happen. But I’m so glad it did. I didn’t realise how amazing it would be. It’s mind-blowing.
