1. Boxing is life life.

You just never know what punch will get thrown your way. I’ve learnt to roll with the punches or get straight back up if I get knocked down. Staying positive improves my mental clarity and keeps me moving forward.

2. Health is wealth.

Growing up, I was bullied and lacked self-esteem, and when you’re feeling down, it’s easy to eat bad foods and not look after yourself. Getting into fitness was the best choice I ever made! I’m confident in myself and exercise makes me happy.

3. There's no better feeling than knowing you've achieved something you worked hard for.

I’m hoping to get a shot at another world title, so I’m still training six days a week. There’s a lot of cardio, sparring and skipping, hill sprints and stair work. It’s hard, but I love it.

4. Healthy eating makes a massive difference.

I might eat a burger here and there, but most of the time it’s plenty of protein, good carbs, vegies, fruit and lots and lots of water. It’s like a car: you’ve got to put in good fuel for it to last longer.

5. Dancing is my go-to mood booster.

Boxing can be so gruelling, so when I want to loosen up and just have fun, I enjoy dancing. I like to move to R&B and pop music – something with a good beat.

6. Time is too valuable to waste.

I want to make my time meaningful and give people motivation and inspiration to push themselves in any field they want to achieve in.

7. As a boxer, you become your body's best friend.

You know that if you get a little niggle, you need to give it some rest. I like to be outdoors, go for a walk, spend time with family and friends. I try to fit in yoga during the week as well.

8. I love making people laugh.

I might send them a joke or a meme, or tell them silly things I’ve done. Making people feel good about themselves and inspiring people are the things I enjoy the most.

9. You can't help how people are towards you, but you can control how you react and respond.

As a female in a male-dominated sport, the more criticism I heard, the more I wanted to work harder. I started to get a kick out of it!

10. To me, ageing is the best journey in life.

As I get older, I become more knowledgeable, mature, I learn more about myself and my values.
