Wealth and genetics can take you a long way, but when a celebrity looks exactly the same as they did 20 years ago, we still have to wonder: what's the secret to their permanent glow? Have they discovered the fountain of youth, or is it something blatantly simple (like drinking enough water every day)? Here, the skincare and fitness habits that keep celebs like Jennifer Lopez and Reese Witherspoon looking 20 years younger.

Halle Berry
It's easy to forget Halle Berry is a 52-year-old mum of two - the actress maintains the body of a 25-year-old - but she doesn't take her health and fitness for granted. Berry never goes a day without meditating, and she also incorporates yoga into her regular routine. Stress has been linked to shortening of telomeres, which accelerate aging, so finding ways to wind down can be helpful long-term.

Elle Macpherson
Elle Macpherson may have earned the nickname "The Body" in her youth, but the supermodel can rock a bikini just as well at 54. She swears by the alkaline diet, where you eat foods that are low in acid to maintain a regular pH level in your body. While the plan is proven to have little effect on blood pH, its focus on fruits, vegetables, and complex carbs means it's still a healthy option for controlling weight and preventing heart disease. Macpherson also stays fit with frequent exercise, like swimming, spinning, and Ashtanga yoga, according to Yahoo.

Christie Brinkley
At 64, model Christie Brinkley is not slowing down one bit - she even appeared in Sports Illustrated's swimsuit issue last year alongside her two daughters, proving that women "do not come with an expiration date." To stay as healthy as possible, Brinkley eats plenty of fruits and vegetables and avoids artificial ingredients, added sugar, processed white flour, and excess salt, according to Forbes.

Sandra Bullock
Sandra Bullock and fellow actress Cate Blanchett caused a bit of a stir when they revealed they're fans of "the penis facial." The treatment is actually called the "Hollywood EGF Facial," and it "includes a cleanse, followed by an intensive yet painless TCA peel," according to facialist Georgia Louise's website. Epidermal growth factor (EGF) - which is sometimes derived from the foreskins of babies - is then pushed into the skin though a painless micro-needling process. The process is thought to boost collagen, which leaves your face looking more plump and youthful. While Bullock looks stunning at 54, more research is still needed to determine the long-term safety of this oddly named treatment.

Julianne Moore
Julianne Moore literally goes out of her way to avoid walking in the sun; instead, she'll always seek the shady side. "I can't even take the light because of my eyes," she told The Cut. The actress also uses a daily moisturiser with SPF and does Ashtanga yoga.

Salma Hayek
While other stars have an extensive, multi-step skincare routine, Salma Hayek leans the other direction. She never cleanses her skin in the morning; instead, she simply spritzes rose water on her face and applies moisturiser, according to Allure. At night, Hayek uses coconut oil to remove her makeup and presses a hot towel with rose water to her face for a deeper cleansing. She also avoids over-exfoliating: "I see many women in L.A. who have exfoliated so much they look shiny. I’ll use a mix of serums and oils depending on my skin that day."

Jennifer Lopez
J.Lo is known for going hard at the gym (her rock-hard abs are proof of that), but she also aims for at least eight (and ideally nine or 10) hours of sleep every night to rejuvenate her body. Research has linked lack of sleep to accelerated aging, so Lopez's dedication to rest (along with her super-healthy diet) are clearly making a difference.

Kerry Washington
Kerry Washington's skin secret is hyaluronic acid, a super ingredient that literally pulls water into your skin to leave it hydrated and smooth fine lines. Washington wears makeup that's actually infused with hyaluronic acid so her skin stays plump and hydrated all day long. She also double-cleanses at night to ensure no leftover makeup clogs her pores.

Eva Longoria
The Desperate Housewives star incorporates variety into her fitness routine so her body is constantly being challenged to stay fit. "I do a lot. I'm a runner, I do yoga, I do Pilates, I do SoulCycle and I'm just constantly mixing it up," Longoria told People. After her workout, she cooks breakfast for herself and her husband, which usually includes egg whites, spinach, and turkey.

Naomi Campbell
You'll never see Naomi Campbell lifting weights; instead, she stays fit with body weight exercises like yoga and Pilates, she told W magazine. The 48-year-old supermodel also avoids excess sugar, drinks ample water, and sticks to a multi-step skin routine of serums, eye cream and moisturiser.

Gwyneth Paltrow
Actress and Goop founder Gwyneth Paltrow has certainly made a controversial name for herself in the wellness field, but you can't deny that her skin looks amazing. In general, Paltrow doesn't wear much makeup to let her skin breathe, and she also does a facial every single day, including a face mask and exfoliant. She also works up a sweat with an hour of dancing every day, which she said also keeps her skin clear.

Jennifer Aniston
The Friends actress embraces a healthy diet and exercise, but she also makes time for self-care. She sets Sunday aside for a personal spa day, where she'll exfoliate her skin, use a face mask, and deeply hydrate to leave her skin glowing, she told Shape. Aniston also meditates first thing in the morning to put herself in the mindset for exercise, and after working out, she uses an infrared sauna to rejuvenate her skin, boost energy, and improve sleep.

Julia Roberts
Roberts is all about balance. You won't see her going on a strict diet like keto anytime soon (she loves carbs); instead, she makes time to eat nutritious, healthy meals with her family that may or may not involve a cookie after dinner. Her beauty routine is minimal, but she does massage a few drops of extra-virgin olive oil onto her face to rejuvenate her skin and leave her looking glowy.

Lucy Liu
Many actresses wear sunscreen regularly (as you might have gathered from this list), but Lucy Liu takes sun protection even more seriously than most people. "Being Asian, I can burn in the sun if I’m not careful," Liu said, according to Future of Personal Health. "I also have some olive in my skin and can keloid easily, so I take extra precautions whenever I do stunts or anything active." In addition to sunscreen, the Kill Bill actress wears hats and covers her neck and chest with a handkerchief.

Reese Witherspoon
At 42, Witherspoon could easily reprise her role as Elle Woods in Legally Blonde, which came out 17 years ago. Her secret is not-so-secret: the Big Little Lies actress carries a water bottle everywhere she goes to keep her skin hydrated and radiant.
