Gone are the days when an advent calendar meant a disappointing square of sub-par chocolate. Now, beauty brands release divine calendars that are packed with goodies. And you’d best get in early because they sell out quick.
"I love the fun of beauty advent calendars," says Prevention Australia's beauty editor, Cecily-Anna Bennett.
"Not only do you have the excitement of opening a special gift for yourself every day, but it’s a great way to discover and try a range of products from a brand that may even become regular favourites in your beauty regimen. The minis are perfect for travel too!"
These beauty advent calendars range in price from $72 to $764 (hey, at least we’re not buying the incredible but exe Drunk Elephant Trunk which comes complete with a carry-on suitcase priced at $988!).
Here are nine of the best beauty advent calendars for 2024.

Jurlique Advent Calendar, $195
We love this brand’s sustainable approach to beauty. Their beautiful advent calendar includes a whopping 25 products, mostly travel size (just in time for the summer holidays). It includes rose face oil, foaming cleanser, serum, mask and even a headband. It’s like total TLC in a box. It costs $195 but is valued at $494. So let's just class that a money-saving exercise, shall we?

12 Days of Endota, $180
If you’re about quality over quantity, this one’s for you. Endota’s limited-edition advent calendar has 12 products, including an essential oil roll-on to help you sleep, exfoliater, eye oil and eco cleansing pads.
Their giftpacks this year are designed by Australian artist James McMillan.

L’Occitane Deluxe Beauty Advent, $199
This stunning advent calendar, with illustrations by Calicot Paris, has sold out already! You can get on the waitlist for the travel inspired box, featuring 27 products, including five full-sized beauties. It includes cleansing oil, serum, eye balm, almond body scrub, verbena soap, shampoo and conditioner, anti-frizz serum, pillow mist and more. The brand’s more affordable classic beauty calendar is now available again though, huzzah!

Diptyque Advent Calendar, $764
Okay, so it’s not the most accessible price. This advent calendar is luxe, just like the French candle and beauty brand itself. The box itself is a work of art, modelled after a retro sewing box and designed by the artist Lucy Sparrow. There are 25 products, including a whopping 10 candles, plus solid perfume, soap, body lotion and room spray. This is another brand with commendable eco values, too.

The Body Shop’s Mega Advent Calendar, $199
The Body Shop’s Mega Advent Calendar is packed with cruelty free, vegan treats. The best bit? 15 of the 25 products are full sized products. It’s priced at $199 with a value of $317. The products include a vitamin E sheet mask, camomile cleansing butter, mango body butter and a nail-buffing block.

Mecca Max Minis To The Max Beauty Advent Calendar, $72
We love minis – they are super cute and easy to throw in your handbag or take on holiday. And make up minis are absolutely included in that. This advent has 12 make up minis in a fab colourful box, including lip gloss, liquid highlighted, eye liner, bronzer and more.

Maison Margiela Replica Advent Calendar, $250
Is just seven products enough to be an advent? Not really. And is the price point high for such small products? Yes. But we do love the Bianchetto overpaint design of the box, which is the kind of style we’d expect from a French luxury fashion label like Maison Margiela. The box includes three fragrances, shower gel, body lotion and two scented candles.

Charlotte Tilbury Treasure Chest of Love, $320
For those with some coin to spend, this will be Christmas come early. Charlotte Tilbury is the master of glam advent calendars. This year, the brand’s advent calendar is in the form of a heart-shaped treasure chest with star-shaped handles. You will definitely keep this box beyond Boxing Day. This one is so popular that last year the waitlist hit 30,000 people. This year it includes 12 products, both full size and mini, including mascara, lipstick, serum and liquid highlighter-blush.

Benefit The Gorgeous Grocer, $299
Imagine going on a beauty shopping spree and then someone packaging it up in cute little colourful boxes for you. Enter Benefit’s 2024 beauty advent calendar, which looks like a hot pink shopping basket of 24 delights, including mascara, blush, foaming cleanser, a clay mask, a couple of lip tints and blushes and more. They are a mix of fun size and full size products, and while it costs $299 it’s worth a lip-snacking $571.
