Celebrity personal trainer Tiffiny Hall is recovering in hospital after having surgery for a severed ligament in her wrist.
Tiff shared the news in an Instagram story video, revealing from her hospital bed that she had undergone a scapula lunate ligament reconstruction of her wrist after having discomfort in the area for “many months”.
Tiff, who appears on the cover of Prevention January/February 2021, said she initially thought motherhood had caused the problem.
“When I saw [the doctor] I said ‘I think it’s just parents’ wrist,” she told news.com.au. “My son has my husband’s long legs and gets heavier by the day’.
“He said no, it was an old injury that had never been properly addressed. He asked if I had done anything unusual over time? I said no, just normal Gladiator stuff and some crazy lifting as a trainer on The Biggest Loser.”

Hall said she hadn’t been feeling any pain while doing TIFFXO because it’s so low impact, so she “just didn’t even think about it”. However, tests revealed Tiff would need surgery.
“I had a ligament that was severed and bones that had moved around in my hand from front to back, and it was a big mess,” she said in an Instagram story video.
As for the impact it will have on her Christmas plans, Tiff said: “I’m sore now but resting up over Christmas and so appreciative of the support from my beautiful TIFFXO community. I think as mums we put ourselves last.
“If I had my time again I would have investigated sooner, as I first noticed the pain lifting my son Arnold every day.”
Tiff noted in her interview with Prevention that being mum to a toddler requires flexibility.
“I can’t have a ‘perfect’ day,” she said. “With a three-year-old son in tow, I can’t set out to exercise at a certain time, because Arnold will just blow that up. So I have to be able to reset and be flexible, and if the day derails in the morning, then I’ll try again later to fit in that workout. It’s about having a healthier mindset.”
